TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL / AWARDS

Another great year at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, no amount of rain could dampen the spirits of all the Artists and Fans!

John's schedule was crazy as usual, rushing from an 'ABC TV Special' filming in Sydney to honour his CMAA Chairman commitments on the Wednesday, performing at the 'Gus Williams Tribute' on Friday before his sell-out 'Mates on the Road' show that night in the Tamworth Town Hall then leading the cavalcade on the Saturday morning before the Awards. John was also thrilled to win the Tamworth Songwriters Association Tex Morton Award.

This year's Country Music Awards proved to be Sara Storer's night with John sharing in the excitement winning Vocal Collaboration of the Year for 'Raining on the Plains' and Single of the Year for 'Raining on the Plains'.

USA Tour 2004

John took his 'Mates on the Road' Tour to America in February 2004 to 'dip his toe in the water'. He performed at Laguna Beach Theatre, Laguna Beach in Los Angeles and Juanita K Hammons Hall in Springfield Missouri; both shows were a huge success with some American fans travelling over 1000 miles just to catch the show!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this Tour and most importantly to all the fans who attended. For John, Pixie and Warren it was the trip of a lifetime and to say all the Artists had a fantastic time would be an understatement!

We would like to make two very special mentions to Thomas Holloway and Dr David Rosenman whose coordination and organisation were essential to the success of this Tour, Thank You to you both.
